Sri Lanka, and the wider region, is home to a huge latex industry that we believe is best-served via local manufacturing, which is why this joint venture is an important strategic development.
Under this new joint venture development, Aquaspersions Group has agreed to licence its technology and branding to Haycolour, a premier industrial solutions provider, which is a subsidiary of Hayleys Plc, a leading diversified group in Sri Lanka.
Under the new deal, Haycolour will manufacture chemical dispersions, under the Aquaspersions licence, for supply into latex industries, including gloves, mattresses, balloons and rubber toys in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
In a first of its kind in Sri Lanka. Haycolour will establish a new chemical dispersion facility to service local markets within the region.. The new facility will use state-of-the-art process technology, leveraging Aquaspersions’ proprietary know-how, and is expected to be operational by Q4 of 2025.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new chemical dispersion facility was held at Kaluthara, Sri Lanka on 5 June 2025, officiated by senior management teams from Aquaspersions and Haycolour.
Hayleys will also be appointed as a Distributor of Aquaspersions’ full range of products in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Haycolour, established in 1980, is a leading colour solution manufacturer in Sri Lanka for textiles, rubber and latex-based products in the South Asia region.
Aquaspersions is a leading innovator in aqueous dispersions and emulsions of polymer, biopolymer, anti-oxidant and curative additives for numerous end-markets, including rubber and latex-based products. Aquaspersions was first established in 1974 in Halifax, United Kingdom and also has manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and the United States.
